Mission Statement


The mission of Religious Education at St. Francis of Assisi is to foster authentic encounters with Jesus Christ, so that those we teach may grow in knowledge of and intimacy with Him and become lifelong missionary disciples who live and share the Catholic faith.

We envision a parish where families make Sunday Mass the heart of their week, where youth eagerly participate in a wide variety of engaging faith formation opportunities, and where every young person experiences a deep encounter with Christ that forms them into lifelong missionary disciples who live and share the Catholic faith with joy and confidence.

We Are Looking For Volunteers


We have opportunities for Parishioners to help support our youth in strengthening their relationship with God and in gaining a deeper understanding of our faith.


September 23 through May 5 – Wednesdays 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm


Youth Group Facilitator

We are looking for an adult who is interested in leading a youth group grades 5-8 on Wednesday evenings. All activities and lessons are pre-planned and focused on building friendships.


Youth Group Assistant Facilitator

We are looking for an adult that is willing to be a support to the Youth Group Facilitator.


September 27 through May 2 – Sundays 10:30 am – 11:30 am


Religious Education Co-Teacher

We are looking for a second teacher to assist with our TK/K religious education class on Sundays. Curriculum is provided and topics for each session are already planned.


Assistant Facilitator

We are looking for 2 volunteers that can assist the lead teacher in our 3rd – 5th grade class and our Confirmation Class.


Substitute

We are in need of someone who is available to be present on Sundays and step into any of the classes needed to help the lead teachers and assist if someone cannot make it to teach.


October 6 through March 24 – Tuesdays 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm


OCIA Child Care

We have many couples with children hoping to participate in OCIA this year. We are in need of adults who can help watch children so that their parents can attend the meeting. You do not need to commit to all OCIA sessions. Even if you can only step in for one day or one month that would be amazing.


March 7 through April 25 – Sundays 10:30 am – 11:30 am


Substitute Middle School Teacher

We are in need of someone interested in stepping in to help teach the Middle School Religious Education class for the months of March and April.

Meet Our Teachers

On September 12th and 14th come meet our Religious Education Teachers and volunteers on the lawn before and after Mass.


First Reconciliation and First Communion

Please use the registration link to sign up for our preparation program. First Reconciliation will take place February 13th and First Communion will be April 11th.


Confirmation

Please use the registration link above to sign up for our preparation program. Confirmation will take place in Missoula in the middle of May.


Youth Movie Night

Join us on November 7th from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm in the Pastoral Life Center.


Advent Wreath Making

Children and adults are invited to make your Advent wreath on November 22nd after the 9:00 am Mass.


Ash Wednesday

Children's Ash Wednesday reflection group will follow the Noon Mass on February 10th.


Stations of the Cross

Drop-in between 10:00 am - 4:30 pm for a 30 minute Children's Stations of the Cross activity on March 12th.


Mother's Day

Join us for a Mother's Day activity during the Mother's Day Brunch on May 9th.
